Abstract
It is shown that the general expressions obtained previously for the thermal Casimir force in the “small spherical particle-metal plate” system [Dedkov and Kyasov, 2007] agree with the Nernst heat theorem provided that a classical expression for the Drude dielectric function in the low-frequency limit is employed.
