Abstract
We have studied the morphological stability of the interphase boundary of a fluid displaced in the radial direction by another fluid (at a constant pressure or flow rate) in a finite Hele-Shaw cell. In contrast to the analogous analyses performed previously, the calculations have been performed with allowance for a finite size of the system. In addition to substantial refinement of the results, allowance for this factor makes possible description of a specific translational instability observed in experiments.
