Abstract

A boundary-value problem for the electric field distribution in the channel of a microchannel plate is solved for a preset value of the current at the channel entrance. Analytical expressions are presented for the field and current distributions in the channel and for the amplification coefficient as a function of the input current. Solutions of the problem are obtained, which take into account the influence of the parameters of a pulsed modulation of the input current on the shape of the output pulses.
