Abstract
Arc discharge in argon is accompanied by the growth of colorless needlelike plates (whiskers) on substrates in the discharge chamber. The first results of investigation of such deposits are presented. It is suggested that the deposited material can be used instead of graphite for obtaining synthetic diamonds.
