Abstract

System for preliminary cooling of electron beam and decrease in the angular divergence of flux of quanta due to multiple passages of the electron beam in a chamber placed in a transverse magnetic field is considered. Cooling of the electron beam is provided by specific configuration of the magnetic field. In the proposed system, the phase portrait undergoes the simplest changes: a stepwise increase in the foil with stretching along the vertical direction, rotation around the origin of coordinates, and horizontal positioning after focusing. Thus, the transverse dimensions of the beam increase and the angular spread at least does not increase (as without cooling).
