Abstract

The formulas for computation of the force action of a turbulent gas jet on an obstacle are refined on the basis of the results of experimental and theoretical studies. The refinements make it possible to simplify the familiar calculation expressions and to reduce the error in calculation of the force. We report on the results of analysis of the quantities affecting the force action of the jet, as well as the shape factor for a jet interacting with various obstacles.
