Abstract

The boundary-value problem is solved for electric field in a channel of a microchannel plate under pulsed modulation of the output current. Analytic equations are determined for the field and current in the channel, as well as for the current at the channel exit and for the gain in the time domain. The effect of modulation parameters on the shape of the output current pulses is analyzed.
