Electromagnetic response of a layered composite insulator to pulsed mechanical excitation

Abstract

A double electrical layer is found to make a major contribution to the electromagnetic response of a layered composite material. The effective charge density in the double electrical layer forming at the cementgypsum interface is estimated to be 4 × 10−9 C/cm2.
