Effect of iron oxide on the properties of La0.9Sr0.1ScO3-α protonics

Abstract

The effect of doping on the transport properties of solid electrolytes La0.9Sr0.1ScO2.95 + x FeO1.5 (x = 0.1–15.0 wt % FeO1.5) has been elucidated by investigating the electrical conductivity of these materials by the four-probe method and the impedance method as a function of external parameters, namely, temperature T (150–900°C), oxygen partial pressure \(p_{O_2 } \) (0.21 × 104–10−15 Pa), and humidity \(p_{H_2 O} \) (0.04–2.35 kPa). Samples of the solid electrolytes have been investigated using X-ray powder diffraction, electron microscopy, and Mössbauer spectroscopy.
