Abstract
A method is proposed for the quantitative description of excitations in clusters. The Hartree-Fock approximation is used as the basic approximation. It is demonstrated that, in principle, long-lived excitations can exist in beryllium. A condensate of excited states is revealed in beryllium clusters with interatomic distances on the order of eleven Bohr radii.
