Exchange pressure and the Wigner-Seitz approximation

Abstract

Working formulas are derived for numerically calculating the exchange part of the pressure in a metal in the spherical Wigner-Seitz cell approximation. The derivation is based on an equation obtained by Dmitriev in the Hartree-Fock approximation.
