Studying the \(\alpha\)-Decay Half-Lives of Nuclei in the Range \({68\leqslant Z\leqslant 118}\) by Double-Folding and Cluster Formation Formalisms

Abstract

In this study, we have systematically calculated \(\alpha\)-decay half-lives for even–even nuclei in the range \(68\leqslant Z\leqslant 118\) within the cluster-formation and the double-folding models in which the neutron and proton density distributions are calculated by self-consistent Hartree–Fock calculations based on Skyrme effective interactions SLy4 and BSk2. The obtained results reveal that the calculated \(\alpha\)-decay half-lives within the inclusion of the preformation factor evaluated by the cluster-formation model can have a better agreement with experimental data.
