Description of Yrast-Band States in \({}^{{156}}\)Dy

Abstract

On the basis of an extended microscopic version of the interacting-boson model (IBM1), yrast-band states in \({}^{156}\)Dy are described up to the spin–parity of \(18^{+}\). Some states of this bands, the \(6^{+}\), \(8^{+}\), and \(10^{+}\) ones, are populated from the \(8^{+}\) excitation that lies at 2.788 MeV and whose population is in turn due to the \(\beta^{+}/\)EC decay of the \(9^{+}\) isomeric state in \({}^{156}\)Ho.
