Abstract
The present-day understanding of the problem of the deconfinement of nuclear matter as applied to experiments that would study heavy ion collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is discussed briefly. The elliptic energy flow, jet quenching, and the production of J/Ψ and Y quarkonia are appropriate observables here.
