A nonparametric scaled equation of state for 4He in the critical region

Abstract

A new nonparametric equation of state describing both thermal and caloric properties of one-component systems is proposed. The equation satisfies the scaling requirements and provides a comprehensive description of critical behavior of a liquid near the evaporation point. The equation is validated by using P-V-T data for 4He. The constants obtained are used to calculate the behavior of specific heat of helium. The calculated results are compared with experiment.
