Abstract

Applying a new approach to the measurement of the rate of apsidal motion in the system AS Cam (\(P{{ = 3.43}^{d}}\), \(V{{ = 8.58}^{m}}\), \(e = 0.17\), Sp B7.5 V+B9.0 V), we obtained the value \({{\dot {\omega }}_{{{\text{obs}}}}}\)= 0.38°/yr, which is not as large as results of earlier measurements differs from the theoretical value for synchronized motion \({{\dot {\omega }}_{{{\text{theor}}}}}\) = 0.44°/yr. Previous generally accepted value was three times lower. Physical parameters of the components have been refined: \({{T}_{1}} = 12{\kern 1pt} {\kern 1pt} 980 \pm 150\) K, \({{M}_{1}} = 3.21 \pm 0.03\,{{M}_{ \odot }}\), \({{R}_{1}} = 2.46 \pm 0.01\;{{R}_{ \odot }}\), \({{T}_{2}} = 10{\kern 1pt} {\kern 1pt} 850 \pm 100\) K, M2 = 2.32 ± \(0.03\;{{M}_{ \odot }}\), \({{R}_{2}} = 1.84 \pm 0.01\;{{R}_{ \odot }}\). For the first time, a reliable orbit and physical parameters of the invisible sa-tellite, the third body in the system, have been determined: \(P = 2.21\) yr, ω = 88°, \(e = 0.70\), \({{M}_{3}}\sin i = 0.97 \pm 0.01\,{{M}_{ \odot }}\).

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

The observations were made mainly by the 27-cm automatic telescope of the INASAN observatory. We used the SIMBAD database of the Strasbourg Astronomical Data Center (France) and the ADS bibliographic reference service (NASA, USA). I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the anonymous referee, whose comments made it possible to significantly improve the quality of the paper.
