Black holes, supernovae and gamma ray bursts

Abstract

A tribute to Ya.B. Zel’dovich in the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth. The three fundamental paradigms for the gamma-ray burst and supernova connections to neutron stars and black holes are outlined.
