Abstract
This work is devoted to studying the dynamo mechanism in the solar convection zone. The mechanism is based on the combined effect of differential rotation and α effect. A regular technique is suggested for constructing a dynamical system that reproduces the main features of the dynamo process in the solar convection zone. The dynamical system obtained in this way yields an adequate description of many features of the cyclic solar activity and, in some cases, indicates the origin of these features.
