Abstract
The eigenfrequency of a Helmholtz resonator fixed at the wall of a rectangular duct is estimated. Special attention is given to determining the attached length of the resonator neck as viewed from the duct. The dependences of the attached neck length and the eigenfrequency on the duct configuration are analyzed. Theoretical results are compared with the data of numerical calculations performed by the finite-element method.
