Abstract
The problem of scattering of a high-frequency plane wave incident at a small angle to the axis of a strongly elongated spheroid is studied. The asymptotic formula for the scattering cross section is obtained in the case of ideal boundary conditions. The influence of the elongation rate of the spheroid and the angle of incidence of the plane wave is analyzed based on computations.
