Abstracts
Diesters of xanthophylls from petals of marigold Tagetes erecta were identified by HPLC on octadecylsilane phases with diode array and mass spectrometry detection. It was found that the carotenoid profile included diesters of all-trans-lutein (I), its cis-isomers, zeaxanthin, and diesters of I formed by saturated higher fatty acids from lauric to stearic and unsaturated oleic acid. The features of the separation of the components of the unsaponified extract are discussed.
