Abstract
A procedure for the stepwise injection-photometric determination of nitrite and nitrate ions has been developed. The procedure employs their subsequent determination by the reaction of colored azo compound formation after the reduction of nitrate ions into nitrite ions on a cadmium reducer. The analytical ranges for nitrite and nitrate ions are 2–15 and 5–50 mg/L (sample volume 2 mL, analysis time 14 min).
