Abstract

An approach to determining the defect parameter density from nondestructive testing data, which takes the stochasticity of the coupling between defect parameters and informative parameters of testing methods into account, is proposed. The solution to the problem is reduced to an integral Fredholm first-order equation. An example of using this approach during the testing of ultrasound welded seams with faulty fusions in their bottom runs is given and its influence on the evaluation results of reliability of the tested object is shown.
