Abstract
The propagation of a plane shear SH-polarization wave in an elastic uniform layer with free boundaries in a direction orthogonal to its surfaces is theoretically considered. Based on the expressions we obtained, the reflected pulses of SH waves in a layer are calculated for a wide layer-thickness-to-wavelength ratio range at the working frequency (the spectrum maximum frequency of the radiated pulse). The resonance phenomena for a layer with a half-wave thickness are considered. The calculation results are confirmed experimentally.
