Abstract
The history of development and the results of research by scientific groups in the field of pattern recognition, signal analysis, and biotechnical systems are described. Teams associated with the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” have been considered.

Anatoly Pavlovich Nemirko. He graduated from the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” in 1967. Since 1986, he has been working as a Professor at the Department of Biotechnical Systems of the same university. He was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences in 1986 and awarded the academic title of professor in 1988. His scientific interests lie in the field of pattern recognition, processing and analysis of biomedical signals, and intelligent biomedical systems. Author of more than 300 scientific publications, including 90 articles and five monographs.
Vladimir Vladimirovich Geppener. He graduated from the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” in 1964. Since 2002, he has been working as a Professor at the department of computer software at the same university. He was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences in 2000 and awarded the academic title of Professor in 2003. Scientific interests: signal processing, artificial intelligence methods, acoustics, pattern recognition. Author of more than 200 scientific works, including six monographs and 50 articles.
Zafar Mukhamedovich Yuldashev. He graduated from the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” in 1978. Since 1999, he has been working as a Professor at the Department of Biotechnical Systems of the same university. Received the academic degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences in 1999 and the academic title of Professor in 2001. Scientific interests lie in the field of pattern recognition, processing and analysis of biomedical signals, and intelligent biomedical systems. Author of more than 300 scientific publications, including 90 articles and four monographs.
Dmitry Mikhailovich Klionsky. He graduated from the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” in 2009. He received the academic degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in 2013 and the academic title of Associate Professor in 2017. Since 2017, he has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Software Engineering and Computer Applications of St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” and the Department of Information Systems of St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI.” Scientific interests: digital signal and image processing, artificial intelligence methods, data mining, pattern recognition. Author of more than 100 scientific works, including six monographs and 50 articles.
