Abstract

A model is proposed for investigating the parametric resonance of a three-layer composite cylindrical shell supported by longitudinal ribs with an asymmetric stack of layers bonded to an elastic hollow cylinder on the inner surface under the action of external pressure and time-varying axial forces. The equations are obtained, and the basic stages of solving the problem are considered using the proposed combination of methods. For the first time, the dependences of the critical frequencies of the principal instability regions are constructed, and the effect of the channel radius, the stiffness of the inner cylinder, the number of longitudinal ribs, and the stiffness of the filler of a three-layer cylindrical shell on the critical frequencies is investigated. The mathematical model developed significantly expands the range of actual scientific and applied problems to be solved and allows us for the first time to investigate the simultaneous effect of longitudinal edges and the inner cylinder on the boundaries of the instability regions for three-layer cylindrical shells, which are promising structural elements of rocket–space and other modern equipment.
