Abstract
In this paper, we find in explicit form the control laws of moving internal masses, which allow us, according to a specified program, to change the orientation of a rigid body without shifting its center of mass in the absence of external forces. Restrictions on possible sequences of body positions at various times are indicated. We compare with the case of a single movable mass and the case when all masses have the same velocity vector. The resulting relationships can be used to control spacecraft and robotic systems.
