Age of Ore-Bearing Iron–Magnesian Metasomatic Rocks in the Central Part of the Aldan Shield: U–Pb Geochronological Results for Garnet

Abstract

U–Pb (ID-TIMS) geochronological studies of garnet from iron–magnesian metasomatic rocks of the Kurung-Khoonku River ore occurrence (Leglier deposit group, West Aldan megablock) were carried out. The results obtained (1901 ± 5 Ma) are the first age determinations of formation processes of ore-bearing iron–magnesian metasomatic rocks in the Aldan Shield. They are related to the final stages of the Early Proterozoic tectonic–magmatic evolution of the Aldan geoblock.
