Abstract

Using the method of the simultaneous electric-arc spraying of graphite and stainless steel from two evaporators, a sample of metal–carbon film of nanoscale thickness based on Fe–C is grown. Using Raman scattering and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, it is found that amorphous carbon, iron carbide, Fe2O3, and FeOOH compounds are formed in the deposited film.
