Abstract

A comparative study of electrochemical and electrocatalytical properties of 5,10,15,20-tetra(pyridyl-4′)porphin (para-isomer, H2TPy[4]P) and 5,10,15,20-tetra(pyridyl-3′)porphin) (meta-isomer, H2TPy[3]P) and also of their metallocomplexes with Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) is carried out by cyclic voltammetry in 0.1 M KOH. The dependence of the form of cyclic I vs. E curves, the redox potentials, and the electrocatalytic activity of compounds in the reaction of molecular oxygen ionization on the heteroatom position in pyridyl fragments and the nature of complexing ion is elucidated.
