Abstract

On the basis of the genetic analysis of F2 by F3 in the combination M13 × r “e” + o, the recombination frequencies between genetic factors of chromosome 6 (=6H) barley were estimated. The study included the following genes: re”(smooth awns “e”), sex 1 (shrunken endosperm xenia 1), o (orange lemma 1), gs 4 (glossy sheath 4), and Amy 1–7 (α-amylase 1, type 7). The Amy 1 locus was identified by separation of alpha-amylase by electrophoresis at pH 8.3. On the basis of the five-point test, the following order to location of the studied loci in chromosome 6 (=6H) was established: 6S–re” (=raw 5)–gs 4 (=gsh 4)–o (=rob 1)–cen–Sex 1Amy 1–6L. The linkage estimation and literature analysis showed that, among the indicated genes, the Amy 1 and Sex 1 loci are located in the long arm of chromosome 6. The other genetic factors are associated with the short arm of this chromosome. The centromere is between the genetic factors of Sex 1 and o (=rob 1). In general, the data presented indicate the need to review the genetic linkage map of chromosome 6 (=6H) barley.
