Abstract

A derivation of the Williams–Landel–Ferry equation for the temperature dependence of relaxation time τ(T) in the glass transition range is proposed. This derivation is of a general character and is not related to any particular form of the functional dependence τ(T), in contrast to the known approaches. The modification of the Williams–Landel–Ferry equation and examples of its practical applications are considered.
