Polymer Science Series A Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

The specific features of nonlinear-optical properties of polymers and the principles of the molecular design of macromolecules containing chromophore groups are considered. Approaches to the design of hydroxyl-containing azo monomers and polyurethanes with nonlinear-optical properties formed on their basis are generalized. The classification of azo-containing polyurethanes in terms of their chemical structure and method of synthesis is suggested, and the structure and nonlinear optical properties of these polymers are discussed.
