Abstract
A method for synthesizing 1,2-epoxycyclopentane and 1,2-cyclopentanediol by oxidation of cyclopentene with an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution in a two-phase system has been developed. A universal flow chart of the directed synthesis of the products is presented.
