Catalytic vapor-phase alkylation of phenol with methanol

Abstract

A promising process for the industrial synthesis of anisole via the vapor-phase alkylation of phenol with methanol in the presence of commercial NaX zeolite was developed. A kinetic model of phenol alkylation with methanol was derived.
