Distribution of low-and medium-molecular-weight substances in biological fluids of healthy children

Abstract

The age and sex dependences of the total contents of medium-molecular-weight substances in the blood plasma, erythrocytes, urine, and saliva were studied in apparently healthy 8-to 16-year-old children living in Arkhangel’sk oblast. The corresponding model equation of multifactor regression indicates that the sorption capacities of erythrocyte membranes and plasma proteins are the most important factors determining stable metabolic balance and detoxification mechanisms in these children.
