Abstract

A regional paleo-forecast conception is presented as applied to the Volga basin with the regional forecast landscape-geophysical scenarios of the nearest future and their paleogeographic analogs considered as unified system of global environmental changes. A progressively strengthening thermo-arid climatic trend with a general northward shift of zonal boundaries and the respective changes in the area water regime and the plant cover structure is predicted. The obtained pattern is similar to the paleo-reconstruction patterns of the Holocene and Mikulian Interglacial optimums.
