Abstract

The environmental indicators of ash and slag removal systems used at Russian thermal power stations are briefly estimated. The drawbacks inherent in the traditional hydraulic ash removal systems used at thermal power stations are discussed. Main barriers hindering the use of ashes and slags from thermal power stations are considered, and the possibilities of increasing the extent of their useful application are analyzed.
