Abstract

The economical and environmental aspects of generating electricity at traditional thermal power stations and at geothermal power stations are considered. The dynamics of prices for fossil fuel and results from an analysis of the electricity net cost structure are presented, and the advantages of geothermal power stations for generating electricity and heat over cogeneration stations in Kamchatka are demonstrated.
