Abstract

We consider a thermodynamic method for determining the cavitation characteristics of pumps, which is based on using the relationship between the pressure of the saturated vapors of the working medium and temperature. The results obtained from testing this method on a single-stage centrifugal pump allow us to recommend this method for wide use in construction of pumps and in diagnosing the technical condition of pump units for different purposes.
