Abstract

Lime ammonium nitrate is a fertilizer with low content of nitrogen that is safer from the technological and environmental points of view. This fertilizer is not subject to the EU restrictions covering transportation, storage, and application. It is efficient to produce lime ammonium nitrate with existing apparatuses for ammonium nitrate production with minimal readjustment. In research work carried out, a mathematical description of the granulation process of lime ammonium nitrate in towers has been proposed. In this work we assess a model comparing calculation results with experimental data and data obtained for an industrial granulation tower.
