Convective diffusion coefficient in the gas phase in evaporation of binary liquids

Abstract

A semiempirical correlation is proposed to determine the convective diffusion coefficients in the gas phase in the evaporation of binary liquids into an inert gas. The calculated and experimental data on the evaporation of n-butanol-water, ethanol-water, and ethanol-methanol mixtures into argon are shown to be in satisfactory agreement.
