Abstract

It is shown that the structural features of biporous silica and concentration of hydroxyl groups on the surface determined the regularities of hemoglobin adsorption on silica. It is concluded that the limiting values of protein adsorption per unit of the adsorbent surface fell as the temperature of adsorbent synthesis rose from 80 to 120°C and increased when a solubilizer (trimethylbenzene) was introduced.
