Catalytic destruction of organic contaminants by galvanochemical oxidation

Abstract

The possibility of intensifying the catalytic destruction of phenol by galvanochemical oxidation was confirmed experimentally. The treatment time can be reduced due to the sluggish occurrence of chain radical oxidation (aftereffect). The oxidation can be performed in less acidic media in the presence of chlorides. The possibility of increasing the efficiency of oxidation by introducing H2O2 in the reaction zone in doses and reducing the undesired reactions of the oxidant was confirmed experimentally.
