Abstract

New data on the morphology and distribution of Minous quincarinatus and M. inermis have been presented. The presence of M. quincarinatus in the ichthyofauna of Vietnam has been proven for the first time; however, this species, apparently, was previously indicated for this country under the erroneous name M. inermis. Based on own and published data, the species composition of Vietnamese Minous has been clarified: M. monodactylus, M. pusillus, M. quincarinatus, and M. radiatus are represented here. For M. inermis, variability was noted in one of the most significant characters of this species—the length of the pectoral fin. Additional characters are indicated for correct identification of specimens with shorter pectoral fins.
