Abstract

Data on morphology of rare species Lamprogrammus niger (Ophidiidae) first caught in the central part of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge are presented. The studied specimen slightly differs from fish of the given species from the Indian Ocean and the continental slope of western Africa. Generalized data on distribution of L. niger in the World oceans are provided.
