  • Published:
Journal of Ichthyology Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

Data on species composition of ichthyofauna of the Kuibyshev reservoir for its period of existence (1957–2012) are presented. The list of fish of the reservoir compiled on the basis of materials of studied of recent years with consideration of new taxonomic revisions and reports (13 orders, 19 families, 46 genera, and 58 species) is cited. For the period from the moment of formation of the reservoir, its ichthyofauna has been supplemented by 17 new species, nine of which have formed self-reproducing populations.
