Abstract

A computer program based on the Monte Carlo method was used to simulate upconversion processes and the migration of excitation in an ensemble of optical centers. The dependence of the upconversion coefficient C up on the pump power and the concentration of centers are determined for inhomogeneous materials with clusters. It is shown that the nonmonotonic character of the upconversion coefficient dependence on the pump power in inhomogeneous materials is caused by a spatial inhomogeneities of excited centers distribution.
