Abstract

The transmission spectra of glass based on tellurium oxide (TeO2), of the TeO2-ZnO-Li2OBi2O3 composition (TZLB), which is highly stable to crystallization, have been measured. The concentration dependences of the luminescence (1.53 µm) intensity and kinetics of erbium ions under 975-nm excitation have been investigated. Based on the experimental results, a fundamental possibility of using TZLB glasses activated by Er3+ and Yb3+ ions for active elements of fiber and integrated optics is shown.
