Abstract—
The studied type strains from the phylogenetically unaffiliated Candida species are insensitive to mycocins of ascosporogenous yeasts of seven genera some of which were active against C. albicans, C. parapsilosis, and C. tropicalis type strains. The data obtained may be useful for assessing the taxonomic position of yeast strains within the large polyphyletic genus Candida.
